It began with a friendship and a desire to help, and remains so today. With each new turn Summer Lovin' finds more friendships in their new supporters.

When an educator and a marketing executive, two good friends, embrace a goal together, it becomes a reality. In 2002, one was diagnosed with Leukemia and was told there was nothing that could be done to help her at the moment. Rather than sit around feeling disempowered by this turn in life, she rallied her friends around her. They came up with a plan. They set out to have her be named Woman of the Year by the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society for raising more money than anyone else in San Francisco, and also to revitalize a local one-on-one tutoring program for low-income children called Back On Track, with a vital infusion of cash. These two powerful women decided to combine forces and a powerful combination it was. In 2003, their first year of inception, they raised almost $130,000 in one evening!

Summer Lovin' is now a group of concerned citizens in San Francisco who come together to create a high profile fundraising reception to raise awareness and money for worthy causes.
